These gifties were made just a bit ago for the newest teenager in our family. It was her birthday and she is very pleased to be 13. She was so happy and kind to all of us. I could tell she felt special, and I hope this little gift made her feel such.
Here's how to make them:
Begin with one of these: elastic band material made for hair. I like the satin look ones, though there are cotton ones and even character ones like Frozen. Etsy is a great place to find them. This shop and This shop both sell them. Otherwise they occasionally come up for sale on pickyourplum.com
Next you'll need felt die-cuts in flower shapes. These are from American Crafts (which is a scrapbook seller) but this Etsy seller has them here. You'll also need a brad to keep them together.
Poke the brad through the 2 pieces of felt (easy when there is already a hole there) and then poke that through the end piece of the elastic tie. Spread out the metal tines on the back side so that they're flat. Now it looks like this:
Make a pack of them and you have a useful and cute gift.
This is what my boys worked on while I made the hair ties:
Dog bone treats for all :)
